Meet Our Provider
Funmilayo Olugbemi is Board Certified as a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). A graduate of Walden University, her mission to de-stigmatize mental illness spans over 31 years of extensive compassionate, caring experience in the nursing profession. She has honed years of expert knowledge and skills in psychiatric mental health nursing across the life span in Inpatient /Outpatient settings treating mood disorders, persistent mentally ill, voluntarily and involuntarily commitments, pre-trial forensic, and crisis management. She is skillful in assessing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating people with mental health illness throughout the lifespan. Her viewpoint as an integrated family mental health practitioner originated from the belief that the body, mind, and human soul and essence are dynamic systems of an integrated whole around physical, biological, spiritual, and environmental connections that necessitate regular attention for optimal well-being. There are instances when the systems become unstable and need extra support. During this period, the goal is to offer safe, holistic, pharmacologic, and psychotherapeutic treatments based on researched and validated scientific treatment standards to patients that include ages 8 to 125. We serve regardless of race, socioeconomic status, spiritual beliefs, or lifestyle while empowering the patient to be active partners in their whole health and well-being.
